Welcome to Lily

lily is a "chat system" service which was implemented using LambdaMOO. RPI is the home of the first lily server, which was started up on March 3, 1994. It is the most recent in a series of CMC projects at RPI which go back to the early 1980's. lily has been available at RPI ever since then, and there are a few other sites which have set up their own lily servers. lily has been a very reliable service, with the production server being up for as long as 599 consecutive days in a single run (at that point a UPS started to melt down, so the lily server had to be shutdown to unplug it from the UPS...).
This is the wiki for lily. It is split into major sections of:
- UserGuide - For new (or even longtime) users for lily, here is a good place to start.
- AdminGuide - If you want to setup your own lily.
< < |
- DeveloperGuide - If you want to get messy with lily server or lily client development.
