!LambdaMOO is a specific program which implements a MOO programming environment.  "MOO" stands for "MUD, Object-Oriented", where "MUD" stands for "Multi-User Dungeons".

!LambdaMOO is base for the "[[Lily.LilyTerminology][MOO engine]]" that we use to implement the lily environment.  By that I mean that we try to take *everything* which is in main branch of the !LambdaMOO project, and then we add just a few custom changes which we wanted to implement a lily server.  We are also very interested in the changes from the WAIF branch of that official !LambdaMOO project.  (_as of December of 2005, lily does not actually use those WAIF properties for anything. But I hope to change that sometime soon..._)
